EL CARMEN DE ROJAS

Your countryside retreat in Argentina

Just meters from what was once the Camino Real, the main house of Estancia El Carmen is as authentic as Argentine pastries. Located in Hunter, southeast of Rojas, towards Salto, it is ideal for experiencing a classic rural stay, surrounded by century-old pines, farm dogs, and simple yet warm facilities. Two nights here are enough to breathe in the nobility of this historic estate.

Rooms at La Matera

La Matera

The most popular option is staying at La Matera.

What we call La Matera is one of the three houses that make up the old estate. Most guests stay at La Matera, which has two double rooms with a bathroom, a living-dining area with a stove and grill. La Matera is ideal for four people and can accommodate up to six. Breakfast and meals are paid separately but are affordable. Check-in and check-out times are flexible.

Entrance to El Studio

El Studio

El Studio allows you to stay in the heart of the estate.

El Studio is an apartment located in the east wing of the main house. It consists of a spacious living-study area and a bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and dressing room. The stay includes meals in the main house dining room. This option is most in line with the historical past of El Carmen and will make you feel a bit like living in the era of the struggles to build our nation. Naturally, pets are not allowed in this area.

From Otto Bemberg to El Carmen de Rojas

The oldest parts of the three houses date back to around 1828. The house at El Carmen de Rojas was built in 1850. Like any old house, it is full of memories and history. We share some details with you, including that the founder was the owner of the estate and spent a few days of his honeymoon here.

The estate has witnessed numerous stories and traditions passed down through generations. Today, we invite you to be part of this unique experience, where you can enjoy the tranquility of the countryside and the warmth of our hospitality.
